Mothers Day

I am feeling a bit sentimental as I sit here contemplating tomorrow. A day set aside to celebrate mothers. I feel a bit guilty as I look back on my relationship with my own mother. We didn't get along, probably my fault. But as I contemplate motherhood I truely beleive that we all do the best we can with what we are given. Some women go into motherhood well prepared, then there are those of us who had no idea what we were doing. I have often said that our first child was there for practice (sorry Regina). So inspite of not getting along with my mother in my younger days, I think that she did the best she could do. I learned years ago that we don't have the right to try to dictate how others raise their children. Our responsiblity is to help each other, sometimes by keeping our mouths shut.
I am also thinking of all of those mothers who tonight have a son or daughter serving our country. Last year, I was one of them. Our son was serving in Iraq. Mothers Day was very difficult for me. My thoughts and prayers are with you MOMS, and your soldiers. It is not an easy thing you moms do-my hat is off to you.
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all of you MOMS, AND MOMS AT HEART!
